Chris Herren to be Inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame
Chris Herren was inducted into The New England Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2013 on June 22nd at the Worcester DCU Center.
“For all the celebrities, sports and otherwise, Chris Herren has had the chance to meet and in some cases befriend, none would be a better fit for co-hall of fame induction than his brother Michael, arguably the most successful basketball player in Durfee history.
·
“I’m going in because of him,” Chris Herren said on Tuesday night from Philadelphia. “Michael and my dad (former Durfee star Al Herren) taught me the game. He is and always will be my big brother and I couldn’t be happier going in together.”
·
A standout from his very first varsity game at Durfee – freshman year at Weymouth where he took charge in the second half when all veterans had a cold hand – Chris Herren completed his amazing Hilltopper career with 2,073 points. He is the school’s only 2,000-point scorer.” – The Herald News, May 21, 2013
